JUST EASTER

EASTER IS COMING

Easter is celebrated every spring and has some meaningful symbols. That is why there are bunnies and baskets full of colourful eggs. However, we cannot remember about the most important meaning of this festival. We celebrate Easter to remain all people that Jesus Christ was crucified, he rose to dead to save us.

Some basic Easter words.

GREEN,GREEN,GREEN

St. Patrick's Day                      17th March

He's a magic man called a Leprechaun. He is Irish and 17th March is a great celebration in his country of Ireland. It is celebrated all over the world and it is called "St. Patrick's Day".

The festival comes from Ireland. People wear green clothes - the colour of their country. The Leprechaun are usually presented with green shamrocks

and a pot of gold.

During this day people have fun, dance, laugh, sing, go to big parties.

However, we cannot forget about the most important figure - St. Patrick who is a patron saint of Ireland.

Before the man became St. Patrick, he was a Scottish young Christian called Maewyn. One day he was captured by Irish pirates and he became a slave.

The Irish wasn't Christians. After six years of working as a slave, he run away and left Ireland. He promised himself to come back there and teach the Christian religion to the Irish people.

Soon he became a priest, then a bishop and the pope gave him the name Patrick and sent him to Ireland.

He was very brave. He didn't stop although people threw stones at him. They even put him into prison.

He thought people about Jesus Christ. It wasn't easy to explain people three parts of God: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit so he used a shamrock.

He worked in Ireland for forty years and died on March 17, 493. Many years later, the church made him a Saint.

One of the legends that is connected with him tells that he chased all the snakes out of Ireland. There are no snakes in Ireland today.
